Sunny Sunday #2 with AMBER RUBARTH(US) + RROSE TACET(FR) + RUBIK(FIN) at Café de la Danse, Paris

Are you looking for something to do - not something like watching TV -, something enjoyable on a Sunday night in Paris before starting a new week? How about going out for a free entry gig at Café de la Danse to see artists you love or just discover new artists and having a good time? Why not? Have you ever heard of "Sunny Sunday" at Café de la Danse?

The series of "Sunny Sunday" is a recent concept of free concerts at the Paris venue Café de la Danse, which welcomes international artists every month on a Sunday night. The first edition featured last month the folk American artists Horse Feathers and Grant Hart (short review of Horse Feathers' performance).
The second edition of "Sunny Sunday" will bring some sun this Sunday 22th May 2011 with the following  promising artists, Amber Rubarth, Rrose Tacet and Rubik.

Amber Rubarth - Washing Day (official music video)

This folk guitar-voice female singer "won the Grand Prize in this year’s NPR Mountain Stage New Song Contest, giving her the great opportunity to record her newest release with Grammy-Award winning producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon)."

Rrose Tacet(FR) from Paris.

[They finally cancelled their show.]

This Paris four-piece band gives you some clues about their influences on their MySpace page: "Kurt Vile, Animal Collective, Beach House, Brian Eno, Nick Drake, Pavement, Berg Sans Nipple, Low, Akron/Family, Woods, Cass McCombs, Can, Robert Wyatt, NLF3, Forest Fire, Smog, Ganglians." That says a lot about their dream pop/experimental songs. They played with artists like Owen Pallett, Julie Doiron, Norman Palm, Tunng, Neon Indian.

Rubik(FIN) from Helsinki.

I particularly love that band from Finland, among others. It will be their second Paris show on this Sunday night. Their first show at la Maroquinerie last year was enjoyable. They're now touring Europe to promote their last album "Solar", following their 2010 excellent album "Dada Bandits". Kind of joyful pop songs played with a bunch of various instruments that make you feel happy effortlessly.
